Just Because Things Are Hard Doesn't Mean They Aren't Fun!

We finally got the twins on dirt! Totally by mistake of course, but this has been our goal for a year:) It started as a chilly, windy day on a paved path we picked up from last weekend in Troy, Ohio. We put in a nice 7 mile bike. It was a bit hard on the girls but they mustered through. As we were heading for the truck to load up, Mike noticed a dirt bike trail at the park we missed at the beginning. What luck--it was perfect for them as an easy short trail!

The dirt was packed and hard from the sun and great to ride on. As an additional bonus, the trail offered obstacles. A teeter totter, a section of uneven rocks, a railroad tie to balance on! They enjoyed it but were completely spent. Here's the best part, I was so worried about Alex enjoying herself because she kept saying how tired she was. When we got home she said she has such a great time. I said, "but Alex, you complained your legs were so tired the whole time!" And her response..."Mom, just because things are hard, doesn't mean they aren't fun!" Such a great 10 year old philosophical statement! Loved today!
