Classic! Thanks Ellen DeGeneres for sticking that in the heads of all parents who have kids that watched that movie--and thanks for telling the truth! As I have been working toward my second yoga certification, I have been reminded of the importance of reflection and over the last two weeks or so, I've had two incidences in which this tag line has come to mind. It's a lot easier to keep going than it is to stop and have to start again. This was never truer than in my days of training for half and full marathons, "if I stop, it'll be harder to start again!" Seems obvious, but recently, I've been thinking about how true this mantra is in many aspects of life; parenting, eating healthy, grading papers, working out, even the laundry or keeping the house clean, "if I stop, it'll be so much harder to start again." How do we keep mustering through the lack of motivation? How do we handle moving through life's interruptions? JUST KEEP SWIMMING! Remember this is part of the journey, the parts that sometime become routine, or we forget to look and appreciate, the parts that become blurred thru the rush of life passing by. But I'm here to be a reminder that our path doesn't always have to be the same to get where we are going. Sometimes when you see the rose, you have to reach through the thorns to get it. But you can also experience the rose in other ways. You can recognize it's beauty and vibrancy, you can take in it's smell or notice how delicate it is, how protected. We can keep going by changing the experience. Parent with a smile, clean the house while dancing, fold the laundry in the sun, run a different road, try a new healthy recipe. Stay the course, find the adventure, just keep swimming!

Hey mister grumpy gills
Life's full of little spills
Don't throw your fins up in disgust
Oh what's the use of floatin' there
Not going anywhere?
Swish your tail
And dive on in
And trust...
That...if...you
Just keep swimming
Just keep swimming
Life isn't all that grim!
